Resource farming: get there faster
Almost everything in the Foundry costs resources. Learn where to find them, which boosters, Warframes and companions bring you more loot, and how Extractors collect for you on the side.
This tutorial is only available in English and German for now.

01What is it about?
Resources drop from enemies, crates and lockers. You need them for almost every blueprint in the Foundry. Common resources come in on the side. For rare ones like
Orokin Hücresi or
Sinir Sensörleri it pays to farm on purpose and use the right helpers.
The key terms in short:
- Farming
- Playing a mission several times to collect specific loot.
- Drop chance
- The chance that an enemy or a container drops something.
- Rare resource
- Resources like Orokin Cells that mostly drop one at a time. They are often the bottleneck when building.
- Booster
- A temporary bonus. It runs in real time, even when you are not playing.
- Loot ability
- A Warframe ability that makes enemies drop extra loot.
- Extractor
- A drone you deploy on a planet. It collects resources for a few hours, even while you are offline.
02Where to find which resource
Every planet has its own resource list. You see it in the Star Chart when you select a planet. These resources are the biggest bottleneck for many players:
| Resource | Location | Note |
|---|---|---|
Orokin Hücresi | Ceres, Saturn, Deimos | Rare, usually drops one at a time. |
Sinir Sensörleri | Jupiter | Rare, only on this planet. |
Argon Kristali | Void | Partly decays every day. Farm it right before you build. |
Kontrol Modülü | Europa, Neptune, Void | Rare. |
Neurode | Earth, Lua, Eris, Deimos | Rare, comes in small stacks. |
Galyum | Mars, Uranus | Rare, usually drops one at a time. |
Morphics | Mercury, Mars, Phobos, Europa, Pluto | Also from containers. |
Plastid | Phobos, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, Eris | Comes in large stacks. |
Tellurium | Archwing missions on Uranus | Only in space. |
Kriyotik | Excavation missions | Comes from the excavators, not from enemies. |
Oxium | Corpus missions on many planets | Drops from Oxium Ospreys. |
03Boosters: double amount or double chance
There are two resource boosters. Both only affect loot you pick up during the mission, not end-of-mission rewards.
| Booster | Effect | Market price |
|---|---|---|
| Resource Booster | Every resource you pick up counts twice. | 40 / 80 / 200 platinum (3 / 7 / 30 days) |
| Resource Drop Chance Booster | Resources drop twice as often. The chance cannot go above 100%. | 40 / 80 / 200 platinum (3 / 7 / 30 days) |
- Both boosters are sometimes free as a login reward.
- Sorties can reward a 3 Day Resource Drop Chance Booster.
- Both boosters together are strongest: more drops, and every drop counts twice.
04Steel Path: double drop chance for free
On the How to unlock and master the Steel Path every mission has +100% resource drop chance. This adds up with the Resource Drop Chance Booster, so together resources drop much more often than in the normal game.
Eximus enemies on the Steel Path also drop Riven Slivers more often. More on that in Riven Mods: get, unveil and cycle them.
05Warframes with loot abilities
Some Warframes make enemies roll their loot a second time. That covers everything in their drop table, resources included.
| Warframe | Ability or augment | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Nekros | Desecrate | Nearby corpses have a 54% chance to roll their loot again. Strength and duration do not change this, range and efficiency help. |
Khora | Pilfering Strangledome | Enemies held in Strangledome have a 65% chance for extra loot. |
Hydroid | Pilfering Swarm | Enemies held by Tentacle Swarm have double drop chance. |
Atlas | Ore Gaze | Petrified enemies have a 25% chance to roll their loot again. Ability strength raises it. |
Ivara | Prowl | She pickpockets enemies without killing them. Slow, but targeted. |
Desecrate can be combined with the other effects. Pilfering Swarm and Pilfering Strangledome do not work on the same enemy at the same time, though.
06Companions: Smeeta Kavat and Retriever mods
The
Smeeta Kavat used to be a must because of its double resource bonus. That has changed: the bonus is now its own mod that every beast companion can wear.
Loyal Retriever: 13% chance that a resource or credit pickup counts twice.
Resourceful Retriever: 18% chance for double resources. You buy it from Son on Deimos.
Prosperous Retriever: 18% chance for double credits.- You can only equip one of these three mods. Khora’s Venari cannot use them.
The Smeeta Kavat is still useful. Its
Charm has a 40% chance every 27 seconds to give a buff. One of them is a rare resource:
Argon Kristali in the Void,
Entrati Lanthorn in the Zariman and
Orokin Hücresi in the Sanctum Anatomica.
07Extractors: resources while you sleep
Extractors are drones you deploy on a planet in the Star Chart. When the timer ends, you collect the resources. You buy the blueprints in the Market for 50,000 credits each and can reuse them.
| Extractor | Duration | Special |
|---|---|---|
| Titan Extractor | 4 hours | Cheap, mostly collects common resources. |
| Distilling Extractor | 8 hours | Better chance for uncommon and rare resources, needs Oxium to build. |
- You can only deploy an Extractor on planets where you have unlocked all missions.
- Drones at once: 1 at the start, 2 from Mastery Rank 5, 3 from Mastery Rank 10.
- Recalling an Extractor early loses its progress.
- Extractors can take damage. Collect them in time, or they are destroyed.
08More tips
- Break crates and containers. The
Thief's Wit mod shows them on the minimap. - Look out for resource deposits. These are special containers with just one resource, often rare ones.
- Farm alone or with a squad that has the same goal. Rushing through leaves a lot of loot behind.
- Weapons with big area damage open many crates at once.
- Stack it all: Steel Path, both boosters, Nekros and a Retriever mod together give a lot more loot.
Frequently asked questions
Is a booster worth it for new players?
Only if you will play a lot in the next days. As a new player you collect most resources on the side anyway. Save your platinum for inventory slots instead.
Why can’t I find Orokin Cells?
They only drop on Ceres, Saturn and Deimos, and usually one at a time. Play endless or boss missions there and bring a loot ability.
Does the Smeeta Kavat still double my resources?
Not through Charm anymore. The double resource bonus now comes from the Retriever mods, which any beast companion can wear.
Do boosters affect mission rewards?
No. Boosters only affect loot you pick up during the mission.
