Castanas are Tenno throwing weapons with an Electricity charge that you can detonate remotely using the alternate fire, similar to the Penta. They guarantee an Electricity proc, can stick to surfaces, enemies and allies, and can be stacked up to six before detonating them all at once.
That makes them strong for crowd control and even for stun-locking some bosses. Extra projectiles from Multishot spread widely. The blueprint is part of clan research in the Tenno Lab, so you need a dojo with that lab built to unlock it.
Castanas was added with Update 12.2 (February 2014).

Castanas is researched in the Tenno Lab of a clan dojo. After research completes, you can buy the blueprint and craft it.
Castanas costs 20,000 credits in total and takes 12 hr in the Foundry with the parts built in parallel. Resources: 800 Salvage, 200 Circuits, 2 Control Module, 1 Forma.
