Whirlwind is a rare Exilus mod for thrown melee weapons like glaives, introduced in Update 10.0. It raises the projectile speed of the thrown weapon, +180% at max rank, and as a direct result also increases throwing distance.
The mod drops from the enemies listed on this page and cannot be transmuted. It sits in the Exilus slot, so you can add it without removing a damage or critical mod. It is handy on glaives that you throw from range, since faster travel means enemies are hit sooner and more reliably.
Whirlwind was added with Update 10.0 (September 2013).
