Volatile Quick Return is an uncommon mod for thrown melee weapons like glaives, introduced in Update 29.5. It reduces the number of bounces, up to -4 at max rank, increases explosion radius and adds a chance for the glaive to explode on bouncing, but it disables punch through.
The mod drops from the enemies listed on this page and can also be created through transmutation. The explosions deal 50% of heavy attack damage and do not use or benefit from the combo counter. It suits glaive builds that favor explosive area damage over piercing through lines of enemies.
Volatile Quick Return was added with Update 29.5 (November 2020).
