Volatile Parasite is a mod for Predasites. Every 15 seconds, the companion spits out a maggot that latches onto the nearest enemy and draws fire from enemies within 40 meters. On death, the maggot bursts, dealing 100% of its accumulated damage as Viral damage, and unattached maggots explode on their own.
You can buy it from Son for 10,000 standing after reaching rank 4, Friend, with the Entrati. It cannot be transmuted. Because maggots raise threat level, they pull attention away from you and your Predasite, which makes the mod useful as a distraction tool in tough missions.
Volatile Parasite was added with Update 29.5 (November 2020).
