Strain Infection

Strain Infection is a rare melee set mod from Update 24.2. For every grown cyst on the Strain set, your melee attacks gain critical multiplier, +20% per cyst at max rank, and the bonus is shown by a Viral icon in the buff display.

The mod drops from the enemies listed on this page and cannot be transmuted. With several cysts grown it gives a large crit multiplier boost, so it fits crit-based melee weapons. Equip it together with the other Strain mods to keep cysts growing, otherwise the bonus stays low.

Strain Infection was added with Update 24.2 (December 2018).
