Fortitude gives a Warframe a chance to resist knockdowns, up to +40% at max rank, and also raises shield recharge rate. When a knockdown or stagger is resisted, its animation does not play at all.
It drops with a high chance in Nightmare Mode missions, which you can find in the World State Window. It is useful for melee players and frames that get swarmed, because staying on your feet keeps you attacking.
Fortitude was added with Update 9.0 (July 2013).

Fortitude is a random reward from Nightmare Mode missions listed in the in-game World State Window.
