Bursting Mass is a weapon augment for the Mutalist Quanta. The infested mass it fires soaks up the damage flowing through it and, once it expires, unloads that stored damage in a 15 m radius. Firing the secondary mode detonates the mass early.
You buy it for 20 Nightwave Creds from the Cred Offerings, which rotate over time. It was first handed out as a Nightwave rank reward before moving into the shop. Pair it with a high-damage Quanta build so the stored burst is worth detonating.
Bursting Mass was added with Update 24.3 (February 2019).

You can buy Bursting Mass from the Nightwave Cred Offerings for 20 Creds when it is in the rotating stock. Earlier it was a rank reward in Nightwave Series 1 and Intermission III.
